In the last few years, the Wisconsin National Guard has seen an uptick in the mobilization of troop assets. With that has come a greater stress on the deploying units, their families and especially the kids. My project’s objective will be to research, develop, and implement a sustainable deployment coping curriculum focused on social and emotional life skills. This project will be conducted as a joint operation with the Wisconsin National Guard’s Child and Youth Program (CYP) as well as Badger Yellow Ribbon (BYR) program. I will utilize my knowledge in Master Resilience Training (MRT) from University of Pennsylvania, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from UMass, and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) from Rutgers University to create a comprehensive curriculum.
