Mindfulness has the potential to deepen our awareness and attention to improve our mental wellbeing. I’m interested in bringing the mindfulness movement into non-profit development and community organizations. Part of this process is learning how mindfulness could be practiced in different community settings. In my project, I explored the paradigm of mindfulness through the lens of Hmong American Women. From this presentation, we will learn about contemplative ways Hmong American women cope with stress that could be adapted into a mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) program.
