Tutorial - SLA Printing

  • Due No Due Date
  • Points 10
  • Submitting a text entry box or a file upload
  • File Types jpg and png

Now that you have sliced the Bucky STL file and optimized its orientation for a clean front surface, it is time to print. For the assignment, print the part using one of the SLA printers in the Makerspace. Select either White, Black or Clear resin. The print should require about 20 - 25 mL of resin and take about 3-4 hours.

When complete, take a picture of the part. Next, compare the SLA part to the FDM part and write a short summary, less than 300 words comparing the visible differences between the processes. Use your knowledge of the two processes to explain the underlying reasons for these differences.

Deliverables

  • Photo of the part after post-processing (remove support)
  • A short summary comparing FDM & SLS(<300 words)
