15% of total grade of the class is allocated for the project presentation.
Everyone should participate in the presentation. The length of the presentations will depend on the total number of projects in the course, but I anticipate that each presentation will be 15-20 minutes long, with 3-5 min for audience questions.
Please see the sheet for schedules and time allocated for your project on the scheduling doc. https://canvas.wisc.edu/courses/396286
The presentation should clearly motivate the problem with the necessary background, state the problem you are trying to solve, some details of the solution (as time permits), and explain some interesting/notable results you found. (Remember negative results are also interesting.) The presentation should end with some insights that you learned, most challenging part of the project, and next steps. You can include a slide or two about something special what you learned from this project (if you want to share).
I will evaluate the project along two lines:
(a) Clarity of the presentation. How easy was it to follow along? Do presenters know the area very well?
(b) Depth of the work? Is the whole project well thought out? The state of the project: complete, close to completion, very far from completion? What will it take to complete it?
Please also submit (or link) your slides with this assignment.
