Certificate

For your final Scratch club, you should have the students show off their final projects. You are welcome to invite parents to the final day (or for the last 30 minutes of your club) if you think that will work well for your site.
On the final day, you should give each of the kids in your club a certificate for completion. (Make sure you have an extra on hand in case someone shows up that you didn't expect!) You can use the following certificate as a template. You will need to modify the certificate to contain your names, the site location, and the day/year. You should personalize the certificate for each student with their name (either handwritten or by modifying the template). You can modify the template further to contain the theme of the year if you are feeling creative!
On the back of each certificate, please write a short (2-3 sentences) personalized message to the student and their parents. Keep it positive and motivating!! Consider including a suggestion for what they could do next.
If you can, please print the certificates on a color printer with good paper (e.g., resume quality). You can get the good paper from me.
If you do not have access to a color printer, you can ask me to print out your certificates -- but the turnaround time may be unpredictable; to increase your odds, you should send me the PDF file at least 48 hours before you need the certificates.
If you send me a PDF file be sure to follow these steps:
1) Test -- by actually printing to a b&w printer -- that the certificate looks correct on the printed page. Do not skip this step and just assume that your certificate will look okay because it looks okay with a pdf viewer.
2) Tell me EXACTLY how many copies you want printed. This may be 1 copy if your PDF contains a separate certificate for each child in your club. This may be the number of children in your club plus a spare or two in case you make a mistake. Don't expect me to know how many kids are in your club -- tell me an exact number to print!
3) When printing a PDF file that was created by Word or Powerpoint,
sometimes a gray box appears behind the Scratch logo. This seems to
happen if you "Save As... " pdf instead of "Printing" to pdf. So, be sure to *Print to a pdf file* if you are emailing me a pdf file. (But, you should catch this if you actually print the pdf you send me to a printer.)
--------------
To submit this assignment in Canvas, upload one of your certificates (one is fine, it doesn't need to be all); this is completely separate from the printing process.
