- Points 2
- Available until Oct 12, 2018 at 11:59pm
Activating CAE Accounts
- All users (instructors, TAs, and students) will need to activate their accounts. This can be done prior to class from any computer (instructions are included below) or it can be done the first day of class in WisCEL (we will have staff at class to assist students in activating their accounts).
- You or your students can activate your CAE accounts prior to class by following theseinstructions:
Go to the CAE Home Page (http://www.cae.wisc.edu/) and click on the Activate Your Account link at the left.
You will need to know your UW ID number, your UW NetID and password and your date of birth.
This means that you will have to have activated your NetID already.
If you are a student, the process may not work until the weekday after you obtain your UW ID card.
Note: You should only activate once.
- WisCEL will have staff on hand during the first two days of classes to help students activate their accounts. We anticipate it takes about five minutes to activate the account and then up to a 10 minute wait period before students can login in with their new accounts and use the computers. You may need to allow time for activation during your first class period.
- Once activated, students will be able to log into WisCEL computers for the semester during class, open study or scheduled exam periods.
Logging out of CAE Accounts
- It is important for you and your students to LOG OUT of WisCEL computers at the end of each class session. This is the only way individuals files will remain secure and the next person using the computer will not have access to your account. It also leaves the computer ready for the next student without having to reboot (which can take up to 5 minutes).
- To LOG OUT of your CAE account on WisCEL computer:
- Press Ctrl+Alt+Del and chose “Sign Out” OR
- Click the CAE logo in the Windows menu, then click “Sign Out “
- Please let your students know about the importance of signing out on the first day of class. We have signs posted around the WisCEL Center with the LOG OUT instructions as reminders.
