Intro

So here in this article I'm gonna talk about the pros and the cons of both sides. It can be tough to decide on which choice is best for you nowadays, but luckily for you there are a lot of choices available to you. When people think of an electric car they will often say ‘Tesla’ straight away as if it's the be all and end all. That's simply not the case, the automotive industry researchLinks to an external site. shows that many other manufacturers of electric cars are doing their bit too. Right now the automotive industry trend is on the up for electric cars, having an automotive market share will be beneficial for you. When you look at the recent growth of electric cars I'd say it’d be a great buy. That's not to say that the standard motor car isn't doing well too, I think it's gonna take an enormous amount of time to eradicate this amazing machine. One other thing you've got to think about is that there will always be people who love cars, and it's gonna take a very long time and many generations for these people to lose interest

Electric cars

So lets start this off with electric cars, i'm gonna give you 3 pros and 3 cons to work with, hopefully this can help you make your decision on which you'll invest your hard earned cash into. Lets kick it off with the pros

Pro 1 - May be cheaper long term

So yes, the price you pay at the start is costly, you’ll typically get set back about $64,000. And that's pricey right. But i'm gonna ask you to do something, if you currently own a standard motor car, think about how much gas you buy on a monthly basis. This obviously depends on where you go to work and how much time you spend driving. But the money you spend on gas will surely be more than you spend on charging your electric car

Pro 2 - More environmentally friendly

So this may be a pro for you and it may not be, but if you care about the world we live in everyday then it may be a good choice to get yourself an electric car. Yes like i previously said, they are not cheap at all in the start phases of owning one. But in the long term they'll benefit the earth and your bank account. I must say it's a win win

Pro 3 - Low maintenance

Everyone that's owned a car at least once in their life, maintenance fees can be very annoying first of all, but also very expensive. So when owning an electric car, especially a well made one will save you even more money

Con 1 - They are super quiet

I know right, you’re probably thinking that this isn't a con but it's more of a pro. Yes maybe in a perfect world, but unfortunately as you already are aware of, We don't live in a perfect world. So let me give a really quick example, I'll do it as fast as I can. You're in the parking lot of your local grocery store, people keep walking in front of you becuacue theory dont hear you. Another example - You pull away from your garage and kids are playing in the road and dont hear you. No need to explain anymore is there, just please be sure to be using your eagle eyes when driving to avoid any accidents

Con 2 - It’s big upfront investment

Not everyone has 60 grand in the bank, and nor are a lot of people prepared to take out a loan. So this can be an issue and if you can't afford it, i don't recommend going down the road of a loan. It's not worth it, my mother always told me this. ‘Don't spend money you don't have’ it's as simple as that. It sounds very obvious, but if you look at the amount of people in debt from loans you'll be surprised

Con 3 - Without battery, you ain't going nowhere

So that's a great thing about having a gas powered car, you can pretty much find gas stations anywhere you are. You can also carry gas with you to fill up in emergency situations. But with electric cars you can't just carry a jerry can full to the brim of electricity can you, firstly its not actually possible and second even if it was, it sounds very dangerous

Standard Motor cars

So now we move over to the more traditional side, going traditional is way more mainstream meaning you'll have some great benefits, but at the same time you’ll of course have to deal with some disadvantages of owning a traditional motor car. Just like the electric car pros and cons i'll give you 3 of each to make it fair to both sides

Pro 1 - More choice available to you

Tons of beautiful cars are on the market, available to everyone. This means you can easily find something suitable to you

Pro 2 - You can sometimes fix it yourself

If you’re hands-on with the tools, you can save some money on expensive mechanic fees. A Lot of things can be found on youtube, there are many tutorials for all sorts of mechanical issues

Pro 3 - They are super simple

They all have pretty much the same mechanisms, but electric cars are much less know about

Con 1 - Noise pollution

They Are loud, of course it depends on what kind you get. If you get an old truck, it's gonna be louder than a modern Toyota

Con 2 - A bad investment if you buy brand new

Never buy a brand new car, unless you've won the lottery. New car smell is good but extremely addictive

Con 3 - Costly car parts (depending on the make)

Yeah it obviously depends on what kind of car you get. If it's a car produced in China or anywhere else with cheap labour costs you'll have a lot available online to fit yourself. But if the car is more exclusive, you will be forking out of you pocket a lot more than you want
