You will now 3D print the Y, H, and T that you just sketched up in OnShape. Using OnShape and the Ultimakers (an FDM Printer) at the MakerSpace, print each of the letters with a thickness of 8 mm.
Print the letters standing up to verify that your overhang angle for the Y, the bridge for the H and the size of the overhang of the T is within the design recommendations.
Remember, do not use support, you should have designed the letters so that support would not be necessary. It's okay if it doesn't come out perfectly, the goal of this assignment is to get you some hands-on experience with the printers and to see how you design things in the virtual world affects how the design prints in the real world.
- Do not use support structure
- Use PLA or Tough PLA
- Use an Ultimaker 3 or Ultimaker S5
- Use a layer height of between 0.1 and 0.2
