Lesson 1: Long-term Viability Review

It is important to determine a future strategic direction for your farm business that is based on the realities of the business’s current potential for long-term economic viability.  Determining where your business is today will inform where is can go tomorrow.  The next three lessons will take you through the components used to measure economic viability; performance, capacity, and resilience.  Then you can use the economic viability information to choose what camp may describe your current farm business (Builder, Long-Hauler, or Guardian-Transitioner), which , in-turn will inform a potential future strategic direction for the business.
