LECTURE: Week (6) guests - Advisors (PRERECORDED)
This week's lecture has been prerecorded. You may view it below at your convenience.
(There is no live in-person or online lecture presentation at 2:30pm on Tuesday, March 02, 2021.)
This week we will hear from some advisers and instructors from across campus to talk about various "Wisconsin Experience" opportunities and how they relate to career development:
- Dan Gold, Director, International Academic Programs ("Study Abroad" and "Study Away")
- Robert Howard, Professor of Communication Arts and Director of the Digital Studies Undergraduate Certificate
- Victoria "Vic" Soto, Morgridge Center for Public Service
The lecture recording below is a little over an hour long. Students with further questions about this material are invited to post to our class-wide Discussions board!
Please note: This lecture was originally recorded during Fall 2020 using BBCollaborate Ultra, and broadcast to that semester's INTER-LS 215 class out of Professor Downey's scenic home office (you may spot a cat in the background). All speakers have given permission to reuse this presentation.

Here are two short videos that explain more about the "Wisconsin Experience":
SuccessWorks Student Staff share interesting L&S classes (April, 2019; 00:03:18). Having trouble deciding which classes to take next semester? We've been there. Hear from some of our SuccessWorks student staff on their experiences and check out some of the classes SuccessWorks offers: Inter-LS 210 and Inter-LS 215.
Here's a short video (six minutes) with some L&S alumni recommendations for picking a major.
