LECTURE: Week (5) - Social networking concepts

This lecture will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2:30pm-3:45pm central time -- live in-person in 3650 Humanities and simultaneously streamed online at go.wisc.edu/n6986j for remote viewing.  The lecture recording and slides will be posted below within 24 hours.

In this week's lecture we'll talk about the theory of social networking -- not just social networking platforms online, but the math and sociology behind these, and especially the ideas of "the strength of weak ties" and "social capital".  Next we will talk about one of the strategies for using social networking tools: branding. (You've already begun to practice developing a personal brand in your assignments. )

(Please note that this week I accidentally left the stage lecture capture camera active, so you all get to see me wander and ramble around as I speak.)
