Abstract:
The United States incarcerates its citizens more than any other country. It is evident that incarceration in the U.S. disproportionately impacts people of color and the poor. Mass incarceration not only negatively impacts the individuals themselves, but their families, communities, and the country as a whole. The goal of this unit plan is to inspire civic engagement among students through education on this civil rights violation.
