Importing content from existing course shell

How do I copy content from another Canvas course? (Links to an external site.)

It is very common for instructors to import content from one course shell into another. Here are some scenarios:

  • You are teaching a course you have taught before. There is no need to recreate all that content! Instead, import from the "old" into the "new".
  • You have been developing content in a sandbox course and now need to move that content into the "real" course.
  • You have inherited a course that had been taught by another instructor. You would like to begin with that "older" material, and then delete content you don't want.

Note: To copy content from one course shell to another,  you must have appropriate permissions in both courses.
