Today's Class

Today we will complete our discussion on face muscles. Then, we will introduce the muscles and triangles of the neck along with the structure and function of the pharynx and larynx and their roles in swallowing and vocalization.

By the end of this class you will be able to:

Explain the organization and distribution of the muscles of the neck.
Define the triangles of the neck and list the contents of each triangle.
Identify the muscles of the pharynx and explain their function in swallowing.
Compare and contrast the functions of the regions of the pharynx.
Explain the action of the pharyngeal constrictors.
Describe the anatomy and functions of the larynx.
Describe the actions of muscles of the larynx on the vocal cords.
